Happy New Year!

Hi Reader,

Happy New Year! The idea of a new beginning is so freeing. It allows us to start over or try something new. Maybe this is the year that you will try something you have been afraid to try or do something that you have wanted to do for a long time. Whatever it is, try it.

As parents of children with disabilities, we put ourselves last a lot. Our children need care and attention that can be overwhelming. I challenge you to make more time to do something for yourself. It can be big or small. Just make sure it is something you want. Please do not wait until you are at a breaking point. Make taking care of yourself your new habit for 2023.

Why I am Grateful:

Last week I went to a boxing class taught by a friend. During the workout, she told the class, "Work your body. Be grateful you have this body." I love that reminder. So often, we only think negatively about our bodies. We see messages from social media that make us feel like our bodies are not perfect. No matter where your body is on your journey, I hope you love it. I am grateful that my body can do so many things and allows me to do the things I love.

We were able to experience the total eclipse in Ohio and it was an overwhelming experience. The Moon blocking the Sun created an entirely different feeling and experience. In this case, the eclipse occurred because the moon was in the way of the sun. Last week, our pastor wondered if we were experiencing an "Eclipse of God", where...
